Providing sober living in Jacksonville, FL since 1963.

Established in 1963, the Alcoholic Service Center (AKA Fourth Street) is a long-standing, dedicated nonprofit organization providing essential sober living residences for men in Jacksonville, Florida. For over six decades, our mission has been to offer a stable, structured, and safe environment where residents can focus entirely on long-term recovery, accountability, and personal growth. We are a community built on the proven principles of sobriety, offering a trusted local anchor that helps men and women successfully transition from treatment back into sober, independent, and fulfilling lives right here in the Jacksonville area.

At Fourth Street, we understand that true recovery requires holistic support and stability. Our residence provides comprehensive room and board in a structured setting, ensuring residents have the resources they need to thrive. Crucially, we offer regular, nutritious meals, removing the stress of daily necessities so residents can focus on their sobriety. We strongly support the path to independent living by encouraging and facilitating the residents' ability to seek and maintain employment; this is a key step toward self-reliance and allows them to be fully self supporting. Accountability is further reinforced by consistent oversight and peer support, along with regular AA meetings held on-site, fostering a strong sense of community and commitment to the 12 Steps. This integrated approach—combining essential living resources, employment support, and continuous recovery accountability—gives every resident the best opportunity for lasting success.
